|
This study deals with chitosan market analysis which composed of demand forecasting. The global market for chitosan was estimated at USD 476.6 million in 2016, and is expected to reach USD 1,088.0 million by 2022 at a CAGR of 14.5% between 2017 and 2022. The chitosan market is dominated by the water treatment application. The market size in this application was USD 210.4 million in 2016 and is projected to register a CAGR of 14.0% between 2017 and 2022. The industrial grade was the largest segment of the chitosan market in 2016, accounting for a share of 52.0%. The global chitosan market is driven by the growing trend of using non-chemical products instead of chemical products. Though there are not many restraints in the chitosan market, there are regulations and compliances related to shrimp farming which affect the chitosan market growth. Hence, the researchers and manufacturers are required to research and develop ways to produce chitosan from non-aquatic sources.
